Meet Sign-Up - How To

As we mentioned at our parent meeting last week, we will be using SuperMeets for families to sign up their swimmer(s) for meets this season.  You may be asking, "How do I decide which meets to sign up for?"  Here are a couple of tips.

1.  Our meet schedule can be found on the home page of our website.  Go the "Main" menu on the left hand side of the page and click on "Meet Schedule".

2.  Your swimmer will automatically be entered in all Maverick hosted meets, including the Pentathlon (Time Trial) Meet on October 3, the Maverick Round-Up on November 6-7, and the Maverick Winter Splash on January 7-9.  We also plan to host a Distance Time Trial for certain eligible swimmers on a date to be announced in December.

3.  The remaining "non-hosted" meets also can be found on the meet schedule.  The first two of these meets are now available in SuperMeets for families to sign up their swimmers - the Fox First Splash Meet on October 16-17 and the Scout Spooktacular Meet on October 23-24.  It is completely up to each individual family whether or not to sign up for a particular "non-hosted" meet.

4.  For each swim meet, there is important information posted on the meet schedule.  If you click on the first link "SIGN-UP HERE", you will be taken to the meet page in SuperMeets to sign up your swimmer.  The second and third links will take you to the host team's website and will provide you with a map showing the location of the pool where the meet will be run.  Probably the most important link is the link to the meet packet.  If you click on the link to the meet packet, you will find the time schedule for the meet and will see a schedule of events to be run for each age group.  You also will find the swimmer meet charges that will be charged for meet entries.  Age groups and events are not always run at the same time or on the same day from meet to meet, so please note the times and events available each day for your swimmer(s).

5.  If you wish to sign up for a meet, it is up to each individual family to sign up their swimmer(s) prior to the meet sign-up deadline noted on the "SIGN-UP HERE" link on the meet schedule and on the SuperMeets sign-up page for the meet.  The entry deadlines noted in the meet packet are for the team entries.  Given the size of our team, we need to cut off individual meet sign-ups earlier in order to give our coaching staff sufficient time to prepare the team's aggregate meet entries.

6.  When you sign-up in SuperMeets, you must sign up your swimmer for each session of a meet in which you want them to swim.  For example, if a meet runs Friday night, Saturday and Sunday and you want to sign your swimmer up for the Saturday and Sunday morning sessions only, you will need to enter your swimmer's name twice in the SuperMeets program for that meet - once in the Saturday morning session and again in the Sunday morning session.

7.  After our team's entry has been submitted and accepted by the host team, we will post the individual swimmer entries on the meet schedule using the "Entries" link for that meet.  This link will show the individual events that your coaches have chosen for your swimmer(s).

8.  After a meet has concluded, the meet results showing the official times for each Maverick swimmer in each event will be posted on the "Results" link for that meet.

9.  The coaching staff encourages swimmers and families to sign up for several meets in order to give themselves plenty of opportunities to compete and improve their racing performance.

Let us know if you have any questions.
