​Fall/Winter Short Course 2024-2025

7/23/2024 Update: At this time, all groups are at or near capacity and no additional results will be posted on the Results page. In the event of an opening for a swimmer who has already been evaluated, we will reach out directly via email. Evaluation for the SC 2024-25 season was held 7/10/2024. We anticipate similar dates for the SC 2025-26 season and will post information here in June 2025. Swimmers wishing to transfer from another USA Swimming club and those who have recently moved into the area should contact the Registrar for more information.

Evaluation Results - this is where you will look to see if your swimmer's ID band number has been posted. We will begin posting results no sooner than July 11. 7/23/24 No additional results will be posted.

General Information about Joining Maverick:

Swimmers who are NEW to club swimming will find it helpful to review the Core Group Descriptions document below. These group descriptions apply to the fall/winter short course season. It is rare for a swimmer who does not have USA Swimming club experience to join us for the spring/summer long course season.

Following evaluation, swimmers are placed in a group consistent with their age and ability. Note that the Minimum Ability Requirements listed for each group are minimums. Usually the functioning ability level of the group is higher than the listed minimum.

Swimmers who do not yet have competitive team experience are encouraged to join their local neighborhood or park district teams during the summer to gain experience. This is especially helpful for swimmers age 9 and older. We do not offer a swim lessons program.

Although there is some flexibility with group placement based on a swimmer's age, the ages listed for each practice group are enforced.

• Families who have recently relocated to the Naperville area and are currently USA Swimming members wishing to join Maverick can contact the registrar for assistance at any time and may be accommodated on a space available basis. Please provide your swimmer's name and age so that we can check with the appropriate group coach.
• If your swimmer is transferring from another local team, we ask that you talk to your current/former team about the reasons prompting your change before making a decision to join Maverick. We strive to be good citizen of USA Swimming and maintain our relationships with neighboring teams.
